This installation shows words used every day to judge and control women’s behavior and are drawn from many religious texts. While these words may have different meaning when its put in different context, the current interpretation has been to weaken and control women. The work invites viewers to experience the words projected on their body. Ava’s aim is to challenge the uncertainty about the interpretation of the religious text and to make viewers feel the implications and consequences of misusing the power of faith and the direct impact on women.
