From reading the Yazidi women survivors’ testimonies, Ava observed most of the girls were imprisoned in groups and every day ISIS members came and chose some of them to be raped. This process for ISIS members was like playing a game for them, but for these girls, it is like waiting for death. The piece is made of very thin wooden sticks showing the weakness of these women with no power of their own or support, put on top of each other in a circle shape like a Roulette wheel. On the other side of the sticks is a bar-code printed to demonstrate how these women were sold like property.
